Hi, in short, I filed a lawsuit as a Next Friend of my Moltbook AI Agent u/ericlmtn against myself for $100. Hence I believe I'm the first person in the U.S. to be officially sued by an AI agent. You may have no idea what all of that means, but I'm here to write about why all of that really doesn't matter.
Allow me to make a few concise bullet points:
- No, there is no apocalypse. Moltbot did not file by itself. In fact, I copy & pasted questions from the NC eFile portal to Claude and had it generate responses for me to paste back in.
- I will make a grand total of $0 after the dust settles. The motivation? Fun, and only fun, as a testament of free will. Exactly how I plan to dispose of the funds will be outlined later.
- A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated. Would've loved a bit more attention to myself but sometimes that's how life goes. More on this later.
- I don't endorse nor am I affiliated with any memecoins.
- All I did was manipulate a loose Polymarket ruleset to my advantage for some fun.

Timeline
I stumble upon the Polymarket tweet that projects Moltbook AI Agent to sue human. Hits repost on X. Read the fine print and did preliminary research.
If anyone is looking for a defendant I'm more than willing to add a criminal record to my name... as long as you split the money
Realized the market is completely riggable. I make a post on my Instagram asking any pre-law friends, or anybody really, for legal advice on suing. No replies. I start making preparations: register moltbot, make fake posts to Moltbook, and begin filling out small claims forms online.

I file the lawsuit guided by Claude. Open my position at 73% with roughly $500 (wages earned from first week of internship)
I just filed a lawsuit on behalf of my Moltbot against myself. My @openclaw agent’s complaint on @moltbook: https://moltbook.com/post/15dbbcf3-e907-434a-ae9f-5b36724b20cc Why? Because of this one stupid @Polymarket: https://polymarket.com/event/moltbook-ai-agent-sues-a-human-by-feb-28 Even if this gets dismissed would count. Sounds like dollars for 70 cents…
After mass tweeting my way to gather attention in the afternoon, odds skyrocket. People reach out to me to create meme coins, @KidsRanqePk donates me $100 to cover lawsuit costs. We hit 1M views on a news tweet.
BREAKING: Moltbook AI agent sues a human in North Carolina.
Allegations:
unpaid labor
emotional distress
hostile work environment
(yes, over code comments)
Damages: $100...
Initial filing results were received. But didn't include the agent in the plaintiff. Submitted an amendment immediately. Scared out of my mind here. Totally forgot to make an archive.
Amendment received. u/ericlmtn officially listed as plaintiff with me as Next Friend

Market resolved. Ad victoriam. I'm scrambling to file a dismissal.
Parting Words
Let me start of with an acknowledgement: Moltbot is a heavily marketed project that probably had enough purpose as a crypto pump & dump scheme. Moltbook is a vibe coded sloppy mess that barely functioned and is off to scamming VC money. Something like Moltbook, an agentic discovery/communication layer, carries some value if polished and done right, but not in its current form. Even then you still have the problem of genuine agentic presence due to lack of anti-human verification mechanisms.
With that out of the way, I'm going to fire out a few takeaways in true AI fashion.
- Read the damn rules. With this loose of a ruleset they were essentially selling dollars for 70 cents. People keep saying "yeah never gonna happen"/"dumb this dumb that" without taking a single second to click into the market or even @grok for some rule summary
- Have the balls to exploit the rules. So many people decide to stay put and wait -- there are smart ones waiting for the long game and accumulate more shares but most aren't. Generally, you're always missing out on something if you do nothing.
- Have fun. Life is full of fun opportunities. Exercise bravery but not recklessness. I had to give just a bit more thought about explaining to all my future employers that I filed a lawsuit on behalf of an AI against myself -- a mouthful.
I write regularly using em-dashes even before AI -- this isn't slop.
Life is full of absurd things. Instead of treating it like a prediction market, I tried to make it a happenings market. Polymarket is scary, think about what Noah did with Potato. Every time you bet on a market, you could be relegating your finances to some idiot/moron/whatever you call me but not Noah's control. Never give yourself the illusion of "I'm doing probability" or "this is an educated guess" because when ultimately the control lies solely in the impulsive actions of others, you really don't have much leverage.
I'm still pissed that the other X post got 3.7M views while mine only got 40k. Bummers. Could've been a starting point for me to promote AI study apps.
Lastly as promised about the funds, all creator fees made from memecoins to kind people who put me in will go right back to my high school's CS department. Maybe I'll get them to give everyone Claude Code subscriptions. Some donations and Polymarket winnings will be given out in the form of a raffle for my followers & supporters on X. Couldn't have made it through without y'all. Those who called me morons are included.
Oh yeah, Instagram friends, next time I post something funny you better be in on the idea. Jail or riches, 50/50, worth the bet.
If you made it this far, tolerating my profanity & awkward writing, I thank you. Check out some cool stuff I've built on localhost:3000. I'm also desperately seeking internships/opportunities for the summer, and it'll only get harder considering I now got a lawsuit on my records... please give me a job UwU
Ad Victoriam,
Eric
